A Class Service Indicator

A Class
Hi All,

I can't reset the service indicator on my 2002 A140 LWB, the car was serviced by an independant and he couldn't reset it. I have tried the usual turn on, call up service indicator, turn off, hold indicator resest and turn on, after ten seconds this resets to zero but within a couple of days states -100, then carries on counting, today it reached -700 and is driving my wife mental.

I have also tried to pull fuses 28 and 30 and leaving for thirty minutes, refitting and trying a reset, this didn't work either.

The independant has had three or four goes at it with his laptop but has now given up stating that his software provider doesn't understand it either.

Any ideas or thoughts gratefully received please.

Many thanks

I had this gone other week.

Wouldn't reset through cluster or diagnostic equipement.
I dissconnected the battery & put it back on & it then reset

Thanks Benza750, I'll give this a go but on my last A Class I had an engine management warning light come on when I changed the battery and ended up at the dealer, is this likely to happen again or was that because it was a 2000 pre facelift model?

Thanks again.
