Just got a quote for fitting the QuickParc system from my local dealer, they have quoted £665 for it  (5 hours labour).

My last car (Ford Focus) I fitted a kit to myself, now if I buy the complete kit online (http://www.mercedes-benz-parts.co.u...afety_385/quickparc--complete-system_725.html) will this:

1) Be simple to fit, i.e. basic wiring in and drilling.
2) Come with instructions for fitting.

Anyone fitted one of these kits to their car?

Its about £1,300 cheaper than having a specialist retrofit genuine Parktronic! Heavens knows what MB would charge for that!

Personally havn't fitted one myself but I'm sure there are some here who have.

Edit: That £665 is probably ex VAT aswell!

There looks to be some good ones on eBay (sorry, no link - I'm off home now :bannana:) and some are wireless and look just like Mercedes kit.

For £50 a time I can see you into your space

Oh, what a great image :) :) :) RPE2 standing between your car and the object you were reversing at with his leg wedged swearing ("that wasnt worth the ....... £50) and going bright red !!

does not need to fix wire from the rear of the vehicle to front, but uses wireless technology to make the communication between the control box at the back of the vehicle and the front displayer. the displayer is colour LED, and just need to plug it into Cig light socket or connect power directly.

Poor English , but it indicates that the display is LED , not the actual sensors , also that you can hard wire it by removing the cigar plug.

I wasn't suggesting that it will look OEM by plugging it into the cigar lighter ;)

I know what i would do .

Doing some research and it looks like the Quickparc system doesn't come with instructions for fitting, and has some more wires than just a live and earth feed.

Is there any way to access the MB documentation on how to fit one or is it a case of only MB dealers having access to this stuff?
