A Class200 premium plus 2024

Have purchased my first new MB car A class 200 premium plus 2024. The production month was June 2024. Very pleased withe car but when I tried to use the traffic sign assist which is standard on this spec, it does not work. Having spoken to the Mercedes dealer they have told me after investigating that the 2nd camera on the front screen was not fitted by MB due to a shortage of cameras that month of production. This was not told to me when purchased. Has anyone else heard of the or purchased an A class before September 2024. With the same problem.

If the Camera was not Installed on Delivery, did you pay for it? And what are MB Proposing to do to Rectify the situation?

According to the March2024 Production brochure the camera that's required for traffic sign assist is standard on the premium plus model. This is an on going discussion with the dealer. What they did say is there was a £200 discount on the RRP. Also they told me that a new production brochure was printed at the beginning of June2024 which I cannot find anywhere online. They have even said that the brochure had not been corrected properly to show that Traffic sign assist was not avaliable during the June production. All of this is ok if when i purchased the vehicle and told about it. I have even had through the Mercedes Me a message if I would like to pay for the digital extra. No use without the camera! Seems if they don't know what was on the car as standard. This is the first Mercedes I have had and naybe the last if this is how they sell there vehicle's.

According to the Dealer I had no recourse, i.e. Compensation or Apology, I had to wait for around 8 months before it was decided that the Chips and Software could be Retrospectively Installed! Get on to the Dealer and Calmly and without losing your Temper ask them what the Fest they are going to do about your Predicament!

Mercedes Me and MB don't always know what's going on "**** and Elbow Springs to Mind" if Mercedes Me Offer the Functionality as an "Optional Extra" try going for it and see what happens, don't go as far as actually Paying for it, but even if you do so, you have Grounds to get the Costs back as they have Offered you something that in theory you can't have!

All of this is ok if when i purchased the vehicle and told about it.

This is the issue IMO. You bought a product and it has been supplied incomplete.

Either this is a fault to be rectified or the dealer and manufacturer have failed to inform you before handing over the car and therefore have misled you.

The whole digital subscription thing is a confusing sh*tty mess IMO.

Looking at the website my car has a list of packages and expiry dates. You then drill down into the packages and some features are listed in more than one package. The feature expiry / cancellation dates on the separate extras don't match the expiry on the package.

The presentation and explanations are IMO poor - and many of them are IMO pretty useless and unnecessary.
