A detailed 600 this time

A masterpiece indeed. Beautiful.

How much would I like that.

Interesting how the driver has leather seats and the VIP gets velour!

This is now things used to be, and presumably that's proper velour in the back and not the nasty nylon stuff that used to pass for it in mainstream cars.

Love the figured instrument cowls - never seen their like before.

Another of those "when I win the Euromillions" moments

beautiful car to make you feel like a King/3rd World Dictator/Primary industry oligarch

I think Idi Amin had one of these.....seem to remember one in an old film about the release of the Entebe Airport hostages by Israeli special forces....way back in the 70s (I think).

If they were all sitting in the back of his grosser, did they want releasing?

I never thought I would say that a W140 600 SEL seems like an inferior beast.

But in the presnce of the original 600, who am I to quibble?

Loving the velour love 'round these parts.

That thing röcks.

Idi had two or three 600's !

Actually quite a few heads of state had more than one .

There's also a very special 600 Landaulet in the Vatican ; wonder if the outgoing Pope will try to repatriate it to the Fatherland ?

The 600 is a great car. Would really like one. There was one on Ebay, or was it Autotrader recently needing modest restoration for just short of £35000.Funny how tastes change once upon a time velour was considered the luxury and leather the working option that was weather and dirt resistant. Now leather is the luxury. Bit biased perhaps as my 450SE has velour throughout.

Shame they didn't polish up the headlights...still looks great though.
