This is an interesting development:

Maserati are working on two Quattroporte models, the current model will grow in size to compete with the S Class, 7 Series & A8 whilst there will be a smaller model offered, possibly also with a diesel. Claimed to be some 300 horsepower with over 500 pound-feet of torque.

Wonder who's engine that will use?

Probably a VM Moturi engine. I doubt they'd go for BMW or merc engine

Am sure there are Italian tractor manufacturers with diesels !!

Is that not where Lambo started?

A nice powerful Iveco engine would do the job! :D

Enough torque? :D:D

I might want to remap that engine just to be sure it's not a tad slow...

I've driven one of these (my second largest client is Iveco) and that engine is awesome!!! The acceleration from standstill is mind blowing, especially when just driving the cab!

But, might be a tad heavy in a Maser.... :D

Diesel Maserati? Nooooo

Be a bloody oil-burning Ferrari next..

Cheers,

Gaz

Well I will say it again. I think MB should build a diesel CL!!

They are missing a market.

And a diesel SL IMHO. What's the point of a long distance cruiser if you have to stop for petrol all the time
