I think the Audi 2.5 is the best engine for the hatchbacks but even that isn't too great!

Gotta contest that! The 2.5 5-pot is an absolutely epic engine - exhaust and intercooler and you'll be seeing 430hp/600nm. Couple that with a gearbox that does what it's told (unlike Merc's) and you'll got an absolutely amazing machine - loved mine, wish I still had it
