Great pics - many thanks for posting.

Yes they do change the exhibits!

Lovely motors...but couldnt they have dusted the tonneau on the red SL and aligned the stars on the wheels of the white/cream convertible:eek: (is it a 116? I've no idea on older mercs:eek: )

edit; Looked again and its the same car; not a redd interiored SL (should have stayed of the cider this afternoon!)

I was hoping to see a few more classic AMG's , i guess i need to go to HQ in Germany for that ....

It's not dust , it's my flash

The Sauber C9 however had a thick layer of dust on the carbonfibre rear wing , so thick in fact that some oik had 'tagged' the rear wing by writing in the dust ...

Ha ha, Nice specs there. 400 litres of fuel onboard..

I once saw one of these crashed into a bank at Donnington Park...

Hi Howard,

Glad to see you've had fun, thanks for the pictures :)

I think the black 600 is/was Jay Kay's (from Jamiroquai)

Will

Anyone know how often they change the cars ?

On the top deck in the AMG section was a CLS55 in designo mystic red with a black and white interior and it was STUNNING .... so stunning in fact that i forgot to take a picture of it ....

Went into the cinema to watch the timeline film , that was great and then went into the birth of the CLK film ( with the vibrating seats ) and was nearly ill

Perhaps i could offer them my CLK as an exhibit

The M-B World in Germany is several times the size ... very impressive and definitely worth a visit.

This is the entrance lobby - the 'Star Trek' lifts also project videos onto the lobby walls for you to watch while you wait! You start at the top of the building and work down in a huge spiral.

Hope it didn't catch fire. 400litres going up in a blue light will be toasty.

Any other 1930s/1950s racers there? I notice the W154 is slightly different in its details from the 1 @ Stuttgart...

Anyone know what the W154 might do to the gallon @ full pelt?

Wow, some real nice examples, yet to visit. How much is the entrance fee? Discount for being an MB owner?

Very nice cars there and thanks Howard for sharing.

It's free !! :bannana:

Not bad.. but you should check out the specs on a BRM V16. 600bhp @12,000 rpm out of 1.5 litres . And it only needed a mere 72PSI of boost to achieve it..

Cheers,

Gaz

When was it made ?

It's later than the Merc.. 1950/51? There's a copy of Motor Sport knocking around in the canteen at work with an article about it, I'll have to see if I can track it down and scan it. A truly epic bit of engineering, but so complicated they never made it run reliably.

Cheers,

Gaz
