Former motorbike champ in dock after his third fatal smash trial - The Daily Record

I was somewhat dismayed on SAturday to read the story reported in one of Scotland's tabloids regarding a motorcycle dealer , and former motorcycle racing champion who has just been found guilty of dangerous driving in connection with an incident where a pedestrian was knocked down and killed , furthermore that this is the THIRD fatal crash this person has been convicted in relation to !!!

Aside of questions as to whether this person , who may or may not be proficient in car control , is fit to be allowed on the roads because of his attitude towards driving and towards other road users ; there must be questions as to whether he , as a YAMAHA motorcycle main dealer in the East of Scotland , is a suitable representative of this company , a suitable role-model for young aspiring motorists - worst still - his name appears on a list of sponsors on the IAM's EDAM ( Edinburgh District Advanced Motorcyclists) group - is this the sort of person the IAM wishes to be associated with ???

Having been convicted THREE TIMES in relation to road deaths , surely it is time to take this person off the roads FOR GOOD ? :ban:

Comments please ??

It would appear that he was the driver of one of two cars racing on the public highway. Although he was not driving the car which hit the pedestrian his driving undoubtedly helped cause the accident and he compounded his offence by not stopping after the incident. :( It is perhaps yet another illustration that even the most physically skilful of drivers may not possess the personality and mental control of their actions necessary for driving safely. At the age of 62 he should have known better.:ban:

If racing drivers are so good, why are they always crashing?
