Hi everyone,

Just recently while I driven my car on the motorway, when reached to speed around 60mph, a resonant low frequency rumbling noise appeared. I have changed the brake discs & pads both front & rear. Does this could be the culprit? Any ideas from other members. Thanks

That depends on the noise... Kompressor engines are a bit boomy (mine is), so it may be normal, but I am not sure what you mean by 'rumbling'. And, have you had the car for some time now, and if so is it a new noise?

What tyres and what tread left.?

Goodyear 195/65/15 tyres fitted to my car, 6mm - 7mm tread left as mentioned at the Service A report done recently. I have done the 4 wheel alignment & front tyres balancing as the car pulled to the left and the garage told me that my off side front tyre had worn in the inner side. The sound is only appear when reach 60mph but when I accelerates to 70mph or reduces the speed its disappear. Thanks

You could try rotating the wheels to see if the noise moves - I had a rogue Goodyear making a noise, however, it was a directional V groove F1, which I'm guessing yours isn't, being a 15"?

Ok John, I'll try to rotate the front wheels with the rear wheels. Actually, Goodyear Eagle NCT5 tyres on my car. Thanks very much for your advised.

Just to update, I've done the wheels rotation (front-rear) today, test drive at 60mph but the sound still exist not as loud as before, seem its coming from the rear wheels. Perhaps the previous front tyres were the culprits due to uneven worn. Thanks very much.
