If it runs and taken you so long to build it then why not take it to MSL and have them rebuild it, what will it cost, £5k? Then go on a nice holiday with the rest of the cash and enjoy your car!

I did consider that but now liking the idea of having the clk63 with all my bits on, id get the same look as I desired but with the bigger more powerful engine

Its alot easier to swap my bits to the clk63 and do a little painting than it is to mess around with engine rebuilds etc, and also something I don't have to rush into, can just enjoy the clk63 as it is for a while while I'm stripping down mine and then get it all in the bodyshop when I'm ready to do so

Plus as a bonus I could always change the colour again to pretty much anything I desire

Fair play!!! Just check if it’s effected by the head bolt issue! You will get that power increase that way too!

I would have thought if they were going to fail they would have done by 140K miles so personally it wouldn’t bother me

You can have them replaced with upgraded ones for around £1200 as a preventative measure. I wouldn’t worry though as if they were going to fail, according to many forum posts they go a lot earlier than 140K miles/11 years.

The CLK63 is quite a rare car, and the price seems very reasonable too. Make him an offer and see what he says

Yeah just been reading up on the forum and see that msl can do the job with updated bolts for as you say around 1200.... but also read the same that if they would have gone that it would have happened by now

A grand for peace of mind, I’d do it personally (well I’d DIY) but still it’s not really worth the risk...
