I had the windscreen replaced on my A124 by a windscreen replacement company who will remain nameless...…….
However the fitter partially opened the roof to facilitate fitting the new screen and unfortunately trapped a screwdriver under the rear cover. This in turn resulted in the roof no longer operating.
I'm guessing that the roof has thrown some error codes due to the microswitches being triggered (or not).
Can anyone recommend a garage in the North Wales/Cheshire/Merseyside area that has experience with the A124 roof mechanism, fault finding, clearing error codes and repairing.
My local Mercedes independent doesn't have the technical experience/knowledge.
Thanks

Assuming this is a 124?

My understanding is that this is a cable pulled system? He may have dislodged a cable.

I would get them:

A) accept liability
B) fix it ASAP

These are fiddly beasts and can cost to put right.

The windscreen company have accepted liability. I've ordered cables to assist in reading the error codes but unfortunately one of them will not arrive until after the 7th July.
I was looking for a recommendation for an independent Mercedes specialist who could read the codes and fix the issue who is based in the North Wales/Cheshire/Merseyside area as my local Independent isn't able to undertake this work on the roof mechanism.

Thanks in advance.

Have a call around the local Dealerships, you might find a friendly one with an older Tech...

Also for a quick check see if the Hydraulic Motor Fuses are still in tact, on/by the front right suspension turret, in the engine bay, under a small black plastic protection snap together housing...
It is a wide strip fuse, inside a small plastic housing that snaps apart.

I get the car back today....
Thank you WDB124066, I'll check the fuses first.
Thank you Codger49 and ukmike, I'll follow up on these two recommendations.
and thanks to the other chaps for suggestions. I want to get the car in perfect running order.

Maybe hand operate the hood through its stroke, if you can - just to make sure it is free to move before bringing the power back on...
If anything is bent or jammed you should be able to feel it first.
