Merc A140 Avantgarde (2000)
I recently got A140 (2000) Avantgarde.
How do I find out if its LWB /SWB as I'm searching for mats online.
The leg room on the rear seats is quite good so I think it's LWB but not sure.
Thanks

WDB1680 is short wheel base anything with WDB1681 is longwheel base...image not necessary but welcomed!

thanks

thanks to you all.. i'll see the docs to find out if it's WDB1680 or WDB1681...
If I can't I'll post the pic.
appreciate your time :thumb:

here are the pics... I think its SWB but I'll leave it to the experts :)
Thanks

Short. Look at the rear door. The VIN is at the lower right hand corner of the windscreen. Is it 1680?

Short, this is a long, rear door is longer also.

Still looks a lot of room however :)

Yes, vehicle no. starts with 1680 so it is SWB
compared to many other small cars the rear has enough room so I thought its LWB but good to know its SWB. Now I can look for the right mats :)

are the front mats different on LWB & SWB? I thought they would be same but the front mat seem to be different.
I still have original (although torn) merc front mats & the shape is like that I see on different website for LWB (mine is SWB).

SWB - MERCEDES A CLASS SWB 1998 - 2004 Car Mats | Cyberspares Ltd UKs Leading Custom Car Mats Manufacturer
LWB - MERCEDES A CLASS LWB 98 - 05 Car Mats | Cyberspares Ltd UKs Leading Custom Car Mats Manufacturer

I like the LWB mats but my car is SWB so the rear mats won't fit :(
any suggestions/advice?

The front mats for the SWB and LWB should be the same. The short ones appear to be missing the footrest part. It's a pity you are after slate grey mats, I'm sure there's a brand new set of quartz ones somewhere in the garage, still in their packaging, but they are very light coloured. It might be worth looking at some breakers are there are sometimes early A-classes at yards now and they might yield a set of tidy mats which are correct for your car. I'd imagine your car came with ribbed mats when it was new, and those new ones you've posted links to appear to be the luxury ones, which are easier to keep clean.

Yes SWB.

In a long wheel base, you can sit in the back seats and stretch out your legs:rock:. More leg room in the back than there is in the front. Infact more leg room at the back than you'd find in much much bigger cars.

This is my first car & I only got it a month ago so ignore me for my naivety.
What do you mean by Quartz? is it set of 4?
There's an ad for Quartz velour to fit my car so I might go with that - http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/classifieds-general-sale/74221-genuine-mb-mats-sale.html

Quartz is pretty light beige colour option, it's a set of 4, they are the ribbed ones, but I'm not sure how well they'd suit your car. Those ones in the ad you've posted are easier to keep tidy being the velour ones, but bear in mind that they are quite light coloured.

ohh...that def wouldn't be the colour to go for....
I've seen some at mercedes-benz-parts.co.uk so I'll look into that but not sure what part number (colour) I should go for as I only need the diver's mat, the rest are fine.
