A140 2002

    my A140 runs rough on idle,uses a lot of fuel and exhaust fumes smell like pure petrol.ive replaced the air filter but not the plugs.i purchased an air temp sensor by advice.is this any good and where is the sensor situated pls.many thanks:dk:

    More likely to be the MAS/ECU monolith , get it on a star to confirm.

    If it is , they can be fixed for about £230 by www.ecutesting.com , they did ours ( we had the same problems ) , turned it round in 2 days.

    Don't buy a secondhand ECU monolith as they are coded to the car and are not interchangeable.

    When the coil rail went on ours , it was fine idling , but as soon as any load was put on it , it misfired dreadfully.
