I'm 18 years old, was looking at buying a Fiesta. Couldnt find one I liked, found a cheap (?) £750 Semi Auto A160. Drove it, drives like a dream

Few minor problems that maybe some of you can help me with; (please bare in mind, I know absolutly nothing about Mercedes, prices of spares etc or repairs to a Mercedes.

Minor Problems:

Bonnet catch - locks, but doesnt shut it all the way down. greased it all up, slammed it about a bit, havent got a clue whatelse to do, whether to buy another one, and get a garage to fit it or what?!

Read window wiper - EITHER I cant find the leaver or button to work it, or, the more likely option, the motor has gone, can anyone tell me where the button/leaver is? and how much a new motor would cost and to fit it?!

I'm getting the boot lock sorted, so thats not a problem

Now, as an 18 year old, a Mercedes A Class isn't exactly.... top of the cool car list. I'm far from a 'chav', if I was, I wouldn't have touched a Mercedes. But I'm looking for some new 15" Alloy Wheels, not the standard ones.. anyone know where to look? I've looked in Halfords, Ebay, Gumtree etc.

And i'm also looking for some 'cooler' headlights, that arn't the standard, same again, looked at the above places. I don't even know if you can get these items, but maybe someone does?

Someone pleasee help

Generally it is not recommended to get a semi-auto or auto w168 a-class as the gearboxes are problematic and will fail at some point and are expensive to replace.

This site is a great site with all the info you would need on the W168 and how to fix problems: Albert Rowe, Lofty's homepage

Way to worry a chap!

Welcome to the site, review the site linked to though and if you don't know the history, look at making sure all preventative maintenece is done before you buy wheels is my advice!
