A200 2019 panorama roof

Ok that button should go forward to open the bind so don’t know why its not

I think what might have happened is due to playing with the gadgets etc in the car with only ignition on, the Aux battery has gone down. Until that is charged up, the sunroof will not work. Whilst i have charged the engine battery, perhaps there is a link between the aux battery and the sun blind, stopping it from moving.

Its not that - checked voltage and that is 12.8 volts, so must be main battery, as stop start has stopped working too. New AGM battery time i think.

With the engine running there should be sufficient power to operate a sun roof.

I agree, i can only go by what i have read on other forums, where suddenly one day the sliding roof / glass stop working, then at some point in future it starts working again. Fuses have been checked, Aux battery is good voltage, engine battery had a warning for being low but even though it is charged it is still not operating. A mystery to me, as it was opening closing fine, without any strange noises or juddering etc.

Unfortunately that is the nature of things.
They work, they stop working! 🙄

I don’t think you mentioned the last time that it was making strange noises and juddering was it doing that

I don’t think it’s your Aux battery if it was I would probably come up on your dash as a malfunction and if i am right it doesn’t have a Aux battery as such its a capacitor

It wasn't making any strange noises, sorry for any confusion. I have also checked the last service sheet and the panoramic roof was lubricated by mercedes last month at part of a B service. The only thing that i noticed today is that there is a light on the button that operates the roof, and when pressed, it dims. Not sure if its related. A bit frustrated by this now, as not sure what else to try. Probably exhausted all things i can do other than put a new main battery in the car.

that could mean a problem with a blown fuse or two and or motor blown and or a problem with switch or wiring. looks as though itsmb going to fix it

If is still under warranty you would be better taken it to them to sort it out a lot less hassle

Roof is now working again - i think it was the battery. I read that the car only charges to 80%, and a battery trickle charger wont reach the last 20% charge. After a few drives it works fine again, i suspect a bit like the stop start, it is one of the systems that will not operate unless there is sufficient charge. Either that, or it took a few full cycles of the engine running and stopping etc, to recognise the battery had sufficient power to use the sunroof.
