With thanks to DC Insider, here is the transcript of the original Dealer Bulletin advising as to how the A208 CLK Cabriolet Final Edition model differed from the standard model. I'm posting this as it is information that I tried to find all over the web and was unsuccesful, so I thought that someone else may also try to find it in the future....

Now that sounds nice. I'd love to get my hands on a Final Edition CLK 430 Cabriolet, but I bet they still cost a packet.

If anyone knows of a 430 CLK cabriolet final edition for sale with all the toys, please let me know.

Could always add the final edition bits to a regular one ;)

I spent ages last year looking and couldn't find one anywhere. There is a well spec'd, very low mileage 320 being advertised at the moment though - I'd worry about the lack of use, although it does look very nice.

I love it ..

One of very few 208s in Cubanite Silver.

Very expensive!

Arguably, but very good spec and very low miles probably make it difficult to put a price on. It is on autotrader for £1,000 less than that advert though...

If DC Insider reads this thread, maybe he can shed some light in how many of each of the models were shipped i.e. were any CLK430's ordered? Maybe we're looking for the Holy Grail...

Unfortunately I don't have the info on how many of the Final Editions were 430s.

However, I would expect the number to be quite small - possibly as few as 10.

The advert mentions upgraded alloys but these are the ones that came as standard on the Final Edition (Brett has AMG alloys on his).

Also, the number plate is different in the 2 photos!

Yeah, for some reason the person that originally spec'd mine added AMG alloys instead of the "special" alloys that went on this limited edition model. I thought the AMG's had been an later edition but checked the VIN with the dealership and that is how it was spec'd from the factory. Go figure.

I'd also noticed the number plate - I guess the first was probably taken just as the dealer had acquired the vehicle, and the second after the cherished transfer had taken place.

One's come up, but not got all the toys I'm afraid. Check out the stock list for the 03/52 Obsidian Black with Black Leather/Suede and 42k miles.

Thanks for letting me know. Shame it has no parktronic or heated seats otherwise I'd be very interested. Still cant quite choose between a cabriolet and a CLK55 though.

I went through exactly the same thought process .. and then I drove a CLK 55, and that was it. It's a whole different car to the 430, much faster, more responsive, tauter, better handling and more nimble, and has lovely soft Nappa leather.
