I'm looking to upgrade the headunit on my 2006 clk kompressor to an xtrons android auto. Apparently I may need a decoder box if I have an original d2b optical bus system command 2.0 or command 2.5
Alternatively I may need an extra optical decoder box if I have a Command APS NGT2 system.
None of that means anything to me whatsoever. I understand what the box is and does but I've no idea whether I need one as I don't know what command is.
As far as I can see. The headunit is a standard MF2540 model
A 209 870 09 89
With a multi changer and standard speakers.
I can't see any fibre optic cables anywhere. Nor can I find an amp.
I've checked the trunk. Left/Right and in front of the spare wheel well.
So I'm guessing that my headunit probably has an amp built into it. If I'm correct does that mean I don't need a decoder and the unit will just plug and play?
Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Looks pretty bog standard tbh. Definitely not a comand unit .

COMAND (Cockpit Management and Data system)

Only 2 connections next to that red fuse reassemble fibre optic connections. But I'm not 100% that's what they are , they are usually orange.

I hadn't realised anybody had replied.
Huge thanks for the info. Much appreciated.
A week or so after I posted I purchased one along with dab+, dash cam and reversing camera and a couple of months later got round to fitting it. I've still not tested it due to not having a battery fitted but I did put a battery on for some reason and it powered on and the speakers started crackling. So I guess it works 😂
