Wanted to share a pleasant experience I just had while restoring my W115 240D's Radiator. As this part is one of the few that is NLA from the dealer, owners are left with few options other than restoring existing components. Enter Aaron Radiator.

While I had no previous experience with them, I had heard that classic specialist garages have used them occasionally over the decades. That, combined with their positive reviews, led me to give them a try. Rather than take them up on their free collection service, I decided to see for myself and drove the Behr rad to Croydon. Right off the bat, I was welcomed and labelled as "Mr. Mercedes" by the proprietor. A quick inspection was followed by a quote of £250-350 depending on the complexity of the job (a later phone call confirmed the amount was £275).

A pleasant surprise was their interest in salvaging my factory oil cooler, which was rusty to say the least. While they shared that they can manufacture new oil coolers at a cost of around £300/-, they didn't try to up sell to me. Rather, they inspected the factory unit, highlighted that it was in need of some TLC and then shared that they would steam clean, test, paint and bake it it for £75. I pick up both units tomorrow, following which I'll be sure to share pictures of the final product.

I'm sure Mercedes owners will be interested, especially if their radiators are NLA, or replacements are significantly less original or more costly.
