2005 cl500
So my cl500 had a leaky pump
Had it replaced with new from MB, all fluid was flushed filter replaced.
Pump makes kind of a winding, humming noise
Also found now a leak from valve block area and the ABC light came back on in red
Thought it was a valve block in need of a refurb
Further investigation tomorrow - rodeo and pressure check on pump
Anyone had similar experiences?
Going through the web pulsation damper is the blame if pump hold pressure

Car is the garage 50 miles away so cannot record
It sounds like power steering pump lacking oil on regular car
Some cars with faulty water pump sound similar

Is it on a w221 s class?

Is there any movement in the actual ABC pulley... if they removed the pulley from your old pump and put it on the new one they could have damaged it. Strange that the noise has only appeared since the new pump has been installed.

When I rebuilt my pump it was slightly noisy for a bit but it gradually died down and I never had any warnings

Was thinking about the same thing - pulley
Will know tomorrow and will update
By the way where do you buy repair kits for the pumps
I've got 2 laying around :-)

Yes
Valve block is leaking from nr 535 on pic so hopefully washer needed only
Pump holds its pressure fine - What need to be checked the pulsation dumper
My mate asked to have few days rest of my car as very busy in workshop (as don't need the car agreed)
It will continue from Tuesday next week

All fixed
New copper washer installed (leak fixed)
Also pump noise is gone
There was still a lot of dirty oil in accumulators - were removed and cleaned
System flushed again, rodeo performed and noise is gone
ABC sorted for years to come :-)
