Guys I recently posted a help request after my 1998 clk completely failed. I have changed the drive belt (serpentine belt) today and perfect, it works great. Drives so smooth and all problems with power steering, battery etc appeared solved.

However

The ABS BAS and ASR lights all light up on ignition. I've seen previous posts which I can't find for some reason when searching, mention turning the vehicle to lock a couple of time to clear it..this doesn't work for me.

I've also read in another forum from a Google search that numerous people have simply changed a break light switch.

Anyone had any similar problems and fixed them?

Cheers

Adam

Replacing that switch is often a cheap fix for a lot of BAS/ASR/ABS problems. For £15, it has to be worth a shot.
You mention previous problems with the battery?
Often a duff battery, or one that is failing gives false signals similar to what you are seeing.
I'd change the brake light switch, take it for a drive and see if the faults go. If not, have you a local indy that can get the fault codes read and find your fault?
