Had an Indy merc garage on their advice replace brake light switch and steering angle sensor. Rang me to say now not communicating with ecu so can’t calibrate. Advice drive for 7 days or get auto technician. The lights weren’t on before changing the items. The brake light switch was an era after market. I have replaced the original back on but no change and ordered a femi bleinsten one. I have driven for 2 days and noticed the aircon does not come on now and the engine very hot - the fan turns off when ignition turned off and doesn’t remain on. Any advice please?

The Steering Wheel Angle Sensor has an awkward plug and the pins can get bent on refitting. This is a common problem and will likely bring up an SRS fault message on the dash. If the pins touch each other than this could also be the reason why the ECU does not respond. In any event, make sure the garage has STAR.

The garage that worked on the car are either responsible for fixing it or paying someone to do so 👍
