Spent today stripping the left rear hub down to get to the abs ring.
The car abs came on last week, propmtly turned the power steering off and runflat along with the usual abs error.
Quick check on the diagnostic said it was the rear left, bought a new sensor and still there, immediately had one of those slow long breath in moments with the drop of the shoulders and a sigh with a murmered FFS.
Roll on today and i spent all day working on tearing it down to get to the driveshaft.
Had to grab a new set of 3/4 hex drivers and a few other things.
wheel off hub in view! carrier nut off with a long bar.

lots of corrosion and a ratty looking abs ring remains.

Arms undone.

Shaft out, it came out quite easlity, a couple of taps on the shaft face and it moved inwards, very relieved!!

This was the corroded sensor ring in the hub.

Used the new Mercedes must have tool to keep the shaft up while i put the new ring in place, I give you the Brickomatic shaft support.

This is the abs ring.. very ratty!! I will be doing the other side next week as well... might as well.

Difference..

Cleaned things up before rebuilding.
Started raining as i finished putting it all back together, will check it over tomorrow.
Sorry there are not more pics, perhaps on the next one... it was really cold and damp today.
