Hi, car is C180 Komp 2007 and 105,000 miles. I beliece it is a W204 mercedes.
ABS & ESP warning light comes on and asks to refer to car manual.
I also note that the cruise control doesnt work when this warning light is on.

The car is used say once every 10 days. So when problem initially started, I used to shake the relays in the fuse box LHS of engine. This worked for a while (I dont know if this was a red herring) but now the light is permanently on.

I have read that turning the wheel full on right and left a couple of times could sort out the problem (probably an old wives tale).

Does a ABS sensor need to be changed? Anyones view would be appreciated.

It sounds like a wheel speed/position sensor is at fault, you will need to read the codes to see which one.
I got hold of a Konnwei OBDII/EOBD scanner but not able to bring up any data re:ABS.
Is the Konnwei unit any use? Does anyone know?

I ran my cheap Lidl scanner over my friends Mitsubishi Outlander (Did not try my iCarsoft MB2) that has "ASC off !" on the dashboard that can not be switched off or cancelled. The OBD scanner shows 'no faults found'...but there is obviously something wrong and he tells me the car had recently had a major repair to damaged wheel and track/tie rods after hitting an obstacle in the road, but without a code he has checked online that says it's a common fault on this car ?? :dk:

But in his case the 4x4 and ABS work fine ???
