Hi All,
Recently my BAS ASR ABS lights have come on. They light up as soon as the ignition is switched on & stay on. (without touching brake pedal)
I have read on here that a common cause of this (& cheapest fix) is sometimes the brake light switch.
I have changed this with a brand new dealer part but the problem remains.
My next thought is the ABS sensors but how do I check these please? Im no mechanic but like to tinker a bit so dont be too technical with the answers please.
If it helps, the cruise control IS working, the doors DO lock when you hit approx 5 - 10 mph, the ABS is NOT working. I have tried the lock to lock steering thing.

To check an abs sensor 1st jack the car up unplug the sensor connect a multimeter and check for continuity (20k setting) this means the circuit is okay, then set to volts iirc and spin the wheel you should get again from memory just over 1 volt at a steady speed.

Ignition switched off at all times!

Might just be easier to get the codes read.
