Acceleration problem, what is this part?

1998 C200 Estate Auto W202
Hi all, I recently bought my first Mercedes and very pleased with it :)

It's a 1998 C200 Elegance Estate Auto, I bought it very cheap but it has an acceleration problem.

When I drive it, it feels as if the accelerator pedal isn't sensing how far I push it down.

The car itself is quite nippy up to about 35 mph then slowly will increase speed from there, like I'm only pushing the pedal a little. When using the cruise control knob it works perfectly, increasing speed rapidly.

I looked under the bonnet and found this:

This is the cable which goes from the pedal and the plastic bit has snapped at the end which could be the cause of my problem.

I also made a little video of how it doesn't travel as much (I have my geek glasses on, lol  )

So I'm quite happy as it seems to be an easier fix than I thought. Can someone confirm that I am correct? And can anyone tell me which part I need?

Is there a parts diagram available anywhere?

Thanks, Stu :D

Pop to your your local Mercedes, order a throttle cable, think from memory around £40.

What sort of oil would you recommend?
Cheers

I would imagine most lubricating oil would do the trick. There are various specific cable lube available, give cable lube a google.

Thanks all :)
