I have for sale an Acer Iconia 8” Tablet PC. Bought on a whim over Christmas, on the pretext that I might be able to use it to run the company MRP software when walking around as opposed to at my desk. Unsurprisingly, trying to run a heavy duty relational database on something with an Atom processor and 1GB of RAM didn't really work out that well..
So, having had a play I realise I don't actually have a use for it. My day to day tablet needs are fulfilled by my iPad, and indeed I've just upgraded that so may as well see if the Acer's of use to someone else.
It's this model here:

Although MRP and CAD software may be out of its league, it's quite a nifty little thing if your requirements aren't too demanding. Web browsing is snappy, the on-screen keyboard is usable even for my sausage fingers and it works pretty well as an entertainment device too. Sound seems fine through my normal earphones (the speakers are a bit tinny but what do you expect), and movie playback is smooth and clear - I played a couple of movies encoded for the iPad after installing VLC and they ran very nicely. Of course, being a Windows machine there's lot of programs that will run on it. It comes with the mobile versions of Word, Excel and Powerpoint, as well as the Edge browser and Windows Mail email client.
On-board memory is 32GB , although about 12GB is taken up with the OS and bundled software. I've put in a brand new 32GB MicroSD card (SanDisk Ultra, so a decent quality one) to take the storage up to 64GB. I believe that's the maximum it will accept. I also bought a case for it, which is a blue pseudo-leather affair and I'll throw that in too. It's not brilliant, but it does the job and it's designed for the Iconia rather than a generic one, so at least you can reach all the buttons and ports.
Obviously I'll reset it before it leaves, but it'll come in the original packaging, and being 3 weeks old you can rest assured it's like new. It's been used for a few hours, and the battery's been charged 2 or 3 times tops. In all it cost me about £120, so how does £80 sound? Payment by Paypal Gift for preference, sorry but I don't do electronic banking. Delivery via Royal Mail Special Delivery (next day) on me.
Cheers,
Gaz
