Acer TravelMate Problem?

I've got an Acer TravelMate 2700 that belongs to a friend, when I press the power button it boots to a screen with ACER on it then goes to a black screen with a blue box saying "Enter Password" but the keys are'nt working

Anyone any ideas? Not too good with Laptops

Sounds like little fingers have been into the bios settings and set a password. I bet no one admits to doing it. Best bet would be to call Acer Tech Support, as most machine Bios have a backdoor password. Other option is to do a google for your bios type, and add the words "lost password". Bios type could be AMI, Pheonix, etc, if your unlucky it will simply say Acer.
