Ad-Aware SE v 1.05

I have been using Ad-Aware along with SpyBot on a regular basis to rid myself of spyware. Recently installed the new version of Ad Aware and was appalled to find that it dug up 118 previously hidden problem items!

I installed Ad-Aware SE 1.05 yesterday as my old Ad-Aware 6.? wouldn't perform an update - anybody else find that?

I have no problem, just found this a coincidence.

Yes. Think they have stopped supporting the old version

I'm finding the same issue with my AdAware 6.0. I thought it was just me, seems like it isn't though.

That's a handy URL
the old version's database wasn't being updated that frequently and was letting stuff through

Downloaded the new version today after doing a virus scan and found 13 adware problems ,Norton AV wouldn't delete these hence downloading Ad-Aware,Which then found 127 problems

Me too, but to add insult to injury the definition file is now corrupted after it locked up at the 5%. Not a great biggie, I just use the SE version instead now.

Interesting that Microsoft are now instructing people to use Adaware before installing SP2 - makes me think that Lavasoft might be getting a nice offer for their product shortly.

Similar story (although mine downloaded okay).
Version 6SE picked up 162 nasties that version 5 didn't!
Interesting to learn of the Microsoft statement - sounds as though some lucky Swede's soon going to be able to afford MB labour costs!
