Adaptive headlights - Fog lights CLS W219

Dumb question, are the adaptive headlights on a cls w219 the fog lights ?
I only ask as I have noticed that mine come on every now and then, and often only one side.

That sounds like Intelligent Lighting System. The headlight beams turn and the car turns on one of the "fog" lights to illuminate the corner.

I'v got that on mine albeit an E63 W211 but also the headlight beam move's when I go round corners too

Not sure what thats called, quite cool though.

Adaptive is the "steering lights"

On the W219 the adaptive lights are the headlights, not the fog lights like on other models.

That is the cornering lights function.

I changed my Fog light bulbs to LED courtesy of Killerhertz and the road lights up nicely whilst cornering now
