Adblue eng. start not possible *** + engine light on

Hi,
If the Adblue level was correct then this is almost certainly due to a NOX Sensor failure.
If the warning message haunt changed yet expect it to change to something like Adblue system failure engine start not possible in and it will countdown from 500 miles,
This is very common apparently, mine went on my E350CDI 65 plate, mine were both replaced FOC by MB.
Has youre car been recalled for an Engine ECU update? As there is reason to think that this can cause these sensors to fail prematurely, hence why a lot of owners seemed to be getting them replaced under goodwill/warranty.

I bought it 2 years ago its been fine i drove 20k in two years once a adblue low level came on i filled that up that time.last week first engine light came on then next day adblue warnning came on (eng start not possible in 487)i dnt wana take it to back to mb dealers .so its needs nox sensor

You need to have the fault diagnosed correctly and the codes read. Ideally this needs to be done on STAR and take it from there. The NOx sensors are approx £600 each and I believe you will have two.

If you don't want to take it to a dealers, take it to a decent specialist. Going by your location, you could take it to Merc Spec.

Hi
As above get the diagnosis confirmed, if you don't want to go to the dealer then make sure whoever does it has online STAR so can update any software with regard to this as it almost certainly require one once a new sensor is fitted.
Has the car received a recall notice for engine software?

Its never called for-recall og engine software since i bought it
Thanx for advise
Mb dealer is waste if time i know few people who got recall notice and then after that car start getting problem and its get heavy on juice aswel

Had an MB quote of £1155 to replace both Nox sensors but when they checked the software update recall notice they swapped them both out for free, whereas my local independant wanted £1300 and would never have fixed it free under recall. 63 plate ML350 with adblue non start after xxx miles warning. Glad I went this route as almost paid $299 on ebay for an OBID plug in device which claims to overide the non-start feature

Does anyone know if the Goodwill replacement will be honoured if the Software update has been installed prevoiusly. I've had this happen to my car and the updates been done, but it looks like this issue stems from the overall problem.

Thanks.

The latest software update only takes place at the same time the NOx sensors were replaced with the latest versions. If the sensors have not been updated then it's unlikely software has been either.

The software recall u mentioned the software is checked via online connection and the box sensors are checked during this and if they need replacement then it will tell u. On many occasions it will not need the sensors and just the update. Get it to a dealer and let them see what it needs . It may not be the box sensors other issues with the adblue system will bring the same warnings. The wiring harness can chafe at the adblue tank causing the same issue

Just registered on here .
After ML 350 was recalled last year . Car done 1000 miles and engine management light came on . Second recall for software and replacement NOx sensors ( if required ) in February this year .
150miles after recall . Eml back on .
And now being told I need to cover the £760 to replace the down stream NOx sensor.

Now at the ombudsman in dispute that it is software and parts failure . As not fit for purpose.

Advised not to drive car so now been at dealers for 5 weeks before getting vehicle recovered from them . And into storage . And sorned ,Until resolved .
Now joined onto this forum and loads more are having similar problems!!!!
Been Mercedes owner for over a decade but disappointed in there reponces so far .

Any one got email or contact number further up the chain to speak to !???
