Add power amp to Audio 30

I just went down to the local HiFi specialist who told me that there are no RCA outs to connect an amp from the Becker Audio 30 unit... The system is totally optical, is there any way an amp can be cleanly hooked to this system... I don't want to waste more money with a high level input.... I am clutching at straws however perhaps there is an optical out?

home amps have optical in (for dolby 5.1 etc) - so i'd be surprised if there isnt a 12v version...

This is what I was thinking a 4.1 connection would be very nice though need to check if there is an optical out of the head unit that can hook to the amp.... I may just be dreaming...

Does anyone know a Becker specialist that could offer advice without just saying speak to Mercedes...
