Adding iPod to S211 - confused!

Hi all, been searching re the 'pod kit and want to install it myself. I have the kit & holder on its way from a German dealer.

My 06 E-class Estate has Comand and the phone kit so I assume no Star work is needed as the steering wheel buttons are activated.

What is the process for adding the 'pod kit?

Do I just need to run wiring etc from behind Comand to the glovebox or is there still a need to run from the back of the car?

Stealers want 2.5 hours at £95 plus VAT!

I am competent with cars as I also run an old E420 and do all the jobs myself.

Ideally, can someone PM me the WIS docs re the install?

You will also need a cable from the back of the car. Very important to follow the instructions here. There are several cables to connect, and also one to disconnect. This is time consuming if you want a nice install. Also a cable must be connected to a MOST termination point. There are several of those in the car. Assuming you got your wheel on the right (read wrong) side, you will find a termination box on the passenger side (where your passenger has his left knee) behind the side wall. Remove the side wall polster. No need to go into Star. Good luck. I would let the dealer do the job!!
