I have a CLS 2006 with command which i am adding an amp and subwoofer to.

Does anyone know if it is better to tap into the front or rear speakers for the high level input for the amp.
Not sure if it makes a diffrence.

Also which colour are the speaker wires from the AGW.
So far i have found the below from google but it is for a W204 c-class:

Front:
Green (+)
Green/Brown (-)
Orange (+)
ornage/Brown) (-)

Rear:
Pink (+)
Pink/Brown (-)
White (+)
White/Brown) (-)

Thanks

I don't think it matters which set - assuming full range goes to both sets. I am going to use the rears for mine.

Have a look through my E55K Standard System Improvements thread - also in the electronics section.

May be more relevant than a C Class?

Thanks for the reply, i had a look at your thread helps alot.

I dont have the factory Sub aswell.
Im going to tap into the speaker wires then run them to my amp.
The power for the amp im going to connect to the battery which is already in the boot.
Ground the amp somewhere in the boot.
Going to do this know, will keep you updated.

Make sure you fuse the power cable to the amp as close to the battery as possible and use an earth cable of the same gauge as the power feed

The active subwoofer I am installing has the necessary fuses on the supplied loom and the correct size cables - if you are buying a new amp, hopefully this will also be the case!

I finished installing my amp and sub last night.
The stock system sounds alot better now.

I took the high level feed from the front speakers at the AGW.
Connected the power direct to the battery and the negitive to the body of the car in the boot.
The whole process wasnt too hard, the only part that took a while was getting speaker feed from the AGW. The cables are very sort and hard to get to.
I ended up removing the navigation and fusebox to get to the cables.

Also removed the insulation in the rear self to let the sound from the sub come inside the car.

Now i'm going to get a custom box made for the subwoofer so that it will sit at the back of the boot closest to the seats.
this way i will still be able to get to my spare wheel without having to move anything.

Yes, I'm not looking forward to this bit. The cables are tightly wound and have very little flexibility. I've sourced some spade and bullet terminals today to do mine with.

I'm going to try mine with it in first. Not sure about yours but there are actually two sets of two ports either side of the stock sub location (where the strange plastic subwoofer housing fits in), and there is a pathway from this into the parcel shelf cavity and up through the grille into the car.

If I can't get enough bass in, I will remove the circle of that weird grey stuff...

Well done. I'm doing mine this weekend.
