The radiator in the 500 v8 seems to have one extra cooling circuit at the bottom.

Does anybody happen to know off the top of their head what its for? I assume its for the transmission fluid, but then again there are some strange designs out there, utilizing the secondary cooling loop in the radiator for either power steering fluid or engine oil or even the air conditioning system.

Im away on business for a couple of weeks so don't have my car or the manual here.

Anybody happen to know what it is in the case of the 500v8?

Oh, thanks!

Do you happen to know if it drains significant amounts of fluid when disconnected? Like, will it empty the pan, or will it just dribble out some fluid thats in the pipes/cooler and then stop?

Im just wondering if I need to take any precautions for fluid loss when removing the rad.

It won't drain the gearbox, just the pipes.
