hi

i'm after a document or a guide on how to adjust your headlamps so that they will pass the MOT.

i've removed the headlamps from my R107 and also fitted new wings so i assume some adjustment will be needed.

does anyone have a link to a document or anything that details how to do it for the DIY user? atleast to get it as close as i can without the proper tools. and then any final adjustments can be done at MOT time etc.

i'm hoping for a guide that gives detail of the beam on a wall when parked 1 metre or so from it etc.

i did a google search but couldnt really find anything - people say just take it to a garage but the headlamps are pretty delicate and old on the 107 and i dont want a Kwik-fit monkey breaking rusty bolts etc and ruining the expensive headlamps!!!

they are probably still in the correct position but i'd like to make sure

thanks

derek

Get another car with the same headlight height and park them a few meters from a wall and adjust so yours are the same height and make sure the adjusters move easily so the garage can adjust them if required.

Ive tried this before and have never been able to get it right.

When I changed my headlamps out I simply ran it into an MOT garage and they charged me £10 to line them up.

I would say the same slide the tester a drink and ask him to adjust them during test.
