I've recently been considering undertaking something of this ilk.

Is there a defacto training course that is worth doing?

Try ROSPA.com.
I passed many years ago and still benefit from some insurance companies

ROSPA came to mind when I was typing the initial post actually...

ROSPA very good my mother in law passed it and gets cheaper premiums, she was 50 when she passed now in her 70s [emoji6]

Both IAM and ROSPA are superb.

I do not display badges for obvious reasons :dk:. Pop into the local groups now and again and still learn or am reminded of good practice. Not an active member but appreciate much of what they do.

Never qualified for any insurance discounts but then what I was taught/learnt has kept me out of trouble and have never had an accident for 30+ years whilst clocking up over a million miles across bikes/cars/trucks.

Recommended with no hesitancy.

I joined a local IAM group when I sat my test way back in the 80’s
Check out and see if any such groups operate in your area.
Good luck with your quest.

Of course, if you do a ROSPA you can then go batshit with confidence. I also recommend Twist of the Wrist by Keith Code. Although aimed at motorcycle racers it has great lessons for any fast driver.
