I recently bought a MacBook having used windows notebook for years. Forum is now littered with advertising, is this a coincidence in timing or is there a setting I can tweak to get rid?

I am logged in to my account not as a visitor. Most annoying.

Thanks.

Those ads pay to keep the forum going. The alternative is a paywall.

In the last 2 weeks I haven't seen an advert of the slightest interest.

Have you clicked through and bought anything? Serious question.

I haven't bought anything. As you say, there's nothing of interest. I do click on a few though to generate a bit of revenue for the site.

With some of these pop-up it might be difficult convincing Mrs MJ that I only clicked to keep Koolvin happy...

....and please don't tell me that the ad content is based on my Google search history :D

You make a good point though about advertising contributing to cost to run the forum.

Personally I would be very happy to pay a yearly fee to be a member.

Dieselman alone would be worth that.
