importing from the USA is not cheap..

the shipping is around £1000 from memory and takes an age.. then you will have a LOT of import duties to pay.

better to look within the EU and simply drive it home.

Wait for Talbir to come along.

I don't believe you pau duty/vat if the vehicle is over 2 years old.

Duty will be payable at 10% of value + shipping costs etc then + 15% Vat. I know because i have 1 st hand experience of importing us trucks new & used.

As long as the vehicle is over 10 years old it wont need SVA, but will be liable for import duty and VAT and it really hurts to pay VAT on the shipping costs from abroad too!

I have imported a few from Japan and the RORO ships make the shipping costs quite reasonable, but there is always the chance thsat some tasty extras will go missing en route. I am yet to improt a car without something going missing (normally extras) but to be fair I havent had one damaged either.

Setanta's W140 looks nice.
