Advice & Opinions - Soon to sell my 1999 R129 SL500

Had to take a weekend off the SL as was busy getting the XC90 in tip top shape ready for sale. All done and just popped up for sale.

Waiting for the OEM CAT section to arrive from Germany and need to get the A/C regassed as not blowing cold. So worked out perfectly anyway.

Well this looks like a decent car in comparison to mine as looking at what the market is selling for to get an idea. I was thinking £14995 for mine to see what the market thought. Seems a heavy premium for the lowest 2000 X MERCEDES-BENZ SL 5.0 SL500 2D AUTO 315 BHP | eBay

I am sure it is better than my car but not sure it is twice the price better is it? I guess like the recent SL55 auction sale it goes to show some people are prepared to pay a heavy premium.

Well the new replacement centre exhaust/CAT section is here so time to crack on with replacing it.

Need a brew first as the CATS get warm even after a few mins of running getting it on the ramp [emoji6]

Slightly funny thing as couldn't find my magnetic inspection torch on tidying up. The I look underneath the SL and it is still stuck magnetically to the underside of the car! Great strong magnet!!

Had just taken it for a brief run upto 60nph as well so it has been well tested for its magnetic stickiness now [emoji3]

I remember working on my brother in laws Car once, He drove all they way back to leiston aprox 60 miles, Then 6 months later all the way back to mine with my small 1/4 drive Ratchet still sitting on his Scuttle panel lol
