Not wanting to fall foul of the rules this is not an advert but a reliance on the multiple experience of forum members to request advice.

I tried to sell my CLK earlier this year with no success and I'm about to give it another try before I decide to keep it.

It is a new shape 03/03 Elegance in Jasper blue with 65k miles and I'm the second owner.

Its very clean with Comand, Alpaca grey leather, electric memory driver's seats/ steering column, seat heating ,17 inch alloys, Keyless Go, 6CD and FSH.
It has an aftermarket Digital TV/dvd player and integrated Bluetooth all through Comand.

Is 9995 a reasonable price for a private sale? I tried 10495 earlier this year but couldn't shift it. What do forum members think?:dk:

From Glasses Guide (never sure how meaningful these are though)

Part-exchange Price:

Excellent condition:
£8810
Average condition:
£7920
Below average condition:
£7040

When selling cars I put myself in to the position of a prospective buyer.
So I do an Autotrader search within 60 mile radius for similar cars, deduct roughly 10% off trader values to give the private value of your car.

I've found so far that trying to settle on price is not an exact science. Haven't found one with the exact same spec as mine (you never do) but different sites show prices for cars with less spec than mine but with leather and Comand with less than 90k miles going for between 8500 and £11490.

Different yardsticks being used out there.

I was trying to ensure that I wasn't asking for pie in the sky.

Hmm...CL or CLS I think.......

Is that bit correct, 51MPG at 80mph?
I've had 51mpg from my 220CDi at 55-60mph, at 80mph it is only 40mpg.

Maybe with a tail wind and a nice downhill bit...

(or a well out onboard computer)

From MPG 203 based threads the 270cdi's seem marginally more economical so may be you should. Whitenemisis has one and he can get his one into the 60's and fuzzer told me with his C270cdi this was the same.

800 mile round trip this weekend. Driving around London and Essex on the M25 brought my Average mpg down to 47.9.
On the way back via M1 and M6, boot full with 1 heavy suitcase and assorted paraphenelia with 2 passengers I acheived 55-56 mpg and I wasn't exactly slow. I was interested in seeing what MPG I would get so I stayed on cruise control and accelerated gradually. Best so far in the CLK.
Lots of cool dense air flowing through the engine as I left London at 9pm and I arrived at Barrow in Furness at 1.30 am. I had the aircon on in 2 bursts of 15 minutes to regulate the in car temp and had it off for the rest of the journey.
The 270 cdi is a bit heavier than the 220 with a bit more oomph and more torque. Can't explain the figures compared to the 220 cdi but I know my computer is reading well.
