Hello

Brother speaking about using their A class for the trip to Europe in Summer as its larger than his current car for all the new borns stuff...

He would like cruise control fitted though. Its a 2004 A class A170Cdi Manual (last of the older shape)

Is this possible as a Mercedes Retro Fit (££££) or can an aftermaket kit me fitted relatively in exspensivly?

Thanks in advance

aftermarket can be done.
I would think best bet is buying 2nd hand oem & then get someone clever to sort it out like Alfie

I'd go for OEM.
It only needs the stalk, pedal switches, loom and the ECU enabling.

i had a mate with a mondeo with cruise control retrofit. it was bolted onto the rim of the steering wheel. Worked well but looked naff.

I'm surprised that a pedal switch is needed, it wasn't required on older models and newer ones have more tech' in them! The brake switch would do surely?

The brake switch will do but it will need a clutch pedal switch as well as it's a manual, isn't it.?

Yes its a manual.

I've asked my brother (who's car it is) to ask the Merc Garage for price of parts..

Last disco i had all you had to do was fit the steering column switch oe part £50 and it worked a treat:)

S'pose so but it would take some of the fun out of it :)
