After Market Stereo Not working correctly

I have just fitted a Sony Bluetooth MEX-BT3600U stereo in to my 2002 SLK 3.2.

Everything works fine apart from the hands free. When you connect the phone and make or receive a call.

It works but you get no sound at all. I think it is down to the Speakers running through an amplifier and a cross over.

Is there a way to correct this?

I have tried the headunit in a normal car with just speakers through the ISO block and it works fine. You get sound when making the calls and receiving.

Any ideas?

When I had my parrot kit fitted in my old car with an amplifier and pioneer stereo, there was a seperate mute lead (wire) I had to connect so it would mute the amp and allow the handsfree to work.

it will simply be wired incorrectly

From looking at the wiring diagram there does not seem to be a mute wire from the stereo.
