It's like sitting on an ice rink in the morning - darn buying a car in the summer!

Is it possible to fit aftermarket heated seat pads in a W211? Is there a kit that works well?

I know that OE is realistically out of the question on a facelift because it would need a wiring loom, SAM unit, messing about on Star etc etc.

Cheers

After breakfast of fried eggs/bacon simply place the frying pan betwix seat and erse :d

I think that comandonline.co.uk can retrofit these. Check with Alfie.

The temperature is nudging double figures in most of the UK so unless you are walking round in a pair of leather chaps with the backside cut out of them or a Peter Stringfellow leopard print g-string there is no need whatsoever for heated seats.

Yes, but he might be at altitude Scott!

There's no 'Need' for many things in life but it's nice to have the odd luxury. :bannana:

We've been doing loads of these.

On W211 you'll need a new front passenger SAM most likely and switch pack if you want OEM functions. It depends on age of the vehicle as there are two different designs

There lots of people out there that claim to use genuine Mercedes parts and update data-cards etc etc but they don't. The Mercedes head pads cost about £400 for the 4 pads - you can see why given 4 pads of aftermarket is about 1/4 of that

To say nothing of people who can get by driving whilst thinking they have wet themselves (alledgly......)

Back on topic, I looked at retro fitting heated seats in my Saab but was told the work involved fitting looms etc outweighed the cost of just swapping it for a Saab that had them.....
It's different in an MB?

Tried my heated seat the other day after scrapping ice from my screen, and I must say it was total bliss, can't beat roasting your nuts on the way to work at 4.45am, only trouble is I didn't want to leave the car when I got to work.

Underestimate cold weather at your peril. Operation Barbarossa probably would have succeeded with heated seats in the panzers. Ranulph Fiennes would have a few more fingers if he had packed a decent pair of gloves. Nobody has ever been thankful for a switch blank. Historical facts.

Toasted buns and a cool cabin. Mmmmmmmmmmmm :p

Heated seats, the essential extra :bannana:

Not me, I went to work on my motorcycle this morning. Trust me at -4 C your bum is the least of your problems.

Unless you were wearing your mankini you have disproved nothing.
