ah..the famous E43 AMG!

Don't like the wheels/tints/badging etc.

It's much, much too expensive for an E430 also.

Looks like it's had some money spent on it , but it would bother me that it is 'upbadged' ... would suggest to me that it's been ragged because the owner is trying to prove that he has a proper 55 all the time.

yes, £7.5 is way too much for the car, however with reference to the ragging I would say the engine prefers it, and 22mpg average would tend to suggest it is not driven like a taxi on a fare, when I got the AMG the service indicator said 3000 until the next service, as I believe I drive cars well (dont take that the wrong way read on,) I wait until they are warm, push them every so often and they get a `cool down` cycle before I turn it off, ie I dont rag it all the way home, the last few miles is completed at a cruise, I extended the vario-service (oil condition sensor which I assume is measuring the metallic content of the oil,) by some X thousand miles, same with the S430 (same engine) 7200 to next service when I got it, 5k under its belt with me, 5200 until next service, a lot of people will kill an engine by always driving the same way -

1. lots of short journeys which cokes them up,
2. motorway miles which will put a dead spot on them,
3. ragging them and wearing them out,
4. driving like miss daisy and coking them up,

Engine manufactures and designers know this and so design and build the engine to take all of the above, however if you give an engine all of the above it stops a lot of the above problems happening, water and oil temp guages and rev counters are pretty much all basic race cars have as they are the most important information for a driver to preserve an engine,

so pushing an engine is not all bad, especially a merc V8, tough as old boots,

I saw a w202 C-class the other day had "brabus" written on the back, but without the "C V8" badging, so of course the engine isn't brabus. But when i got a closer look, he had a very wierd but NICE looking body kid, the brabus exhaust and genuine brabus monoblocks (or they looked genuine).

At first i didnt think it was valid for him to put that badge... but i guess for styling... maybe. I've seen loads of CLK320 AMG's, u know there's no nuke under the bonnet, yet it has AMG styling. Quite valid imo.

No , an AMG badge denotes that it is a fast specialist car , not just a body kitted up base model IMO .

maybe we should all drop a digit from out badges,

Mark - owner of an S43

Bobby - im afraid as you brought a proper AMG you now own a C4!!!

One-upmanship; from now on I'm going to refer to mine as a "C4 AMG". There. Sorted.

Just looking at the pics again and it says amg bodykit, what exactly is the w210 amg body kit? as my e430 in the same colour looks identical.

I thought (probably wrongly) that the amg had round front fogs.

Oh yeh and its down to 6.5k now!

I'm guessing that 774 SHELL MODIFICATION FOR AMG-WHEELS just means rolled arches.

I'm guessing that 774 SHELL MODIFICATION FOR AMG-WHEELS just means rolled arches.

It does, and on some vehicles you'll get the 'arch extensions' if the wheel would protrude beyond the arch lip.

Do you think arch rolling is worth doing for cosmetics? or is it pointless unless u really need it for your wheels?

It's only the strengthening return lip that is rolled over, there is no visual change.
I suspect you mean flaring for visual enhancement and even wider tyres.

The 210 AMG front bumper was a bit dull, would have looked better like this:

i like that white W210 :)

Nice one with the Photoshop Shude. I guess if someone had the time and money that could be fabricated to look like that.
