ahh bit of mopping and xeno headlight fitting lol

right after spending time at the BMW paintshop with Des and getting excited about mopping etc etc I decided to buy a mop and have a go myself (with des the painter keeping a eye on me lol) I got teh 3M final glaze (the same stuff BM use) and had a go at the merc

Here are a few pics of the goods



I first washed the car and then wet the sponge applied the glaze and started to mop the car, my mrs went mad coz it went everywhere lol. I then applied the mequires stuff (all 3 steps) after i finished. SO basically I spent a total of 8.5 hours on the merc

check the results, you need to see it to actuallt take in how good the paint now is






I also had the car coded by my indy (yes he has the tools for mercs as well as BMW) to code the car to accept xenons. Big thanks to Ben at chrome line for supplying theses bad boys as well as the xenon rear reverse light, xenon side lights and xenon interior lights lol

The BMW came with xenons from the factory however, i replaced the bulbs with 8000k (thanks to ben again) the merc has 6000k this pic shows youthe difference between the 2

Very nice ... what are the 'Xenon' bulbs that you have used for reversing / sides / interiors ? (Obviously, not real HID but look good .. are they PIAA or something ?)

Why did you go for 8000k on the BMW - just for looks ? (blueish?) 'cos you realise you won't get as much useful light output from them. I had a 6000k retrofit on mine which was a good compromise - (factory is 4300k, and the brightest in terms of visibility of the road ahead !)

8000k give me the best of both worlds some blue ting and some good light at night, however the BMW is hardly used its more of a weekend car and a car that i take to shows.

The rear reverse bulbs and interior bulbs are not HID there just very white replacemnet bulbs that are rather cheapt to buy. I get my bulbs from Ben at chrome line design. His contact details are here http://www.chromeline-design.com/ he mostly deals with BMW as you can see but he supplies stuff for mercs to.

The Xenon look interior lights and reverse lights look wicked and are as cheap as chips I replaced the fog lights ones to (i hardly use them) but when you have the locator lights on they looked out of place. there HB4 on the Clclass and a bastard to get to lol! but well worth it IMO

do u notice the new e46 m3 bonnet on the vert many thanks to my painter at BMW cuting it down to size etc etc to make it fit an dthe fog light moudlings mmmmmmmmm no one notice subtle mod u like u like lol

by the way also replaced the indicators in the mirror as one had a scratch and i'm a bit funny like that finallyfound the clip to take the casing off!!

Didn't notice the chrome light surrounds at first, but they do look a bit too 'aftermarket' ! On a par with the chrome tail light surrounds (you might as well have those too !!!) ... loadsa' chrome !!!

Very shiny. I am just doing the SClass with my new Porter Cable, so far so good. Then it will be the turn of the C43.
Like the Xenons can feel another MOD for the C43 coming on.
