Air bag light problem

First a confession this relates to a VAG car (a Seat Ibiza 2009) and prompted my OBD post. The air bag light came on yesterday. Connected a friends generic scanner and not able to access the SRS system at all. Checked the fuse on the SRS circuit and it is OK but there is no 12v supply at the input side of the fuse. Bit stumped at the moment....any ideas gratefully received.

Check the cables, plugs and sockets under the seats for the seat belt restraint system. They can often get dislodged and trigger an SRS light.

Generic OBD readers can rarely, if ever read or re-set SRS faults.
