Hi folks,
S212 350cdi estate, new to me and I picked it up last Friday, where A/C worked fine. On Saturday morning I turned the a/c on and pressed the re-circulation button a few mins later whilst driving the fan just stopped working and hasn't blown out any air since, no loud noises or clunking or anything to note apart from it just stopped working. No air comes out on any settings of fan speed, or heat. When you're driving along you can feel the air coming from the vents and it still makes the incoming air hot or cold, so thankfully (it seems) the heater and a/c unit still work, it just doesn't force the air out at any speed and there is no sound of the blower on any speed setting.
I took apart the passenger footwell and managed to get to the fan blower and regulator, but couldn't get the blower motor off myself despite unscrewing all and undoing all the electrical connectors. I will get a friend more mechanically inclined than me to actually help change it. My question is, shall I replace the blower and the regulator together? Or just the blower? I've checked all fuses relating to A/C etc and nothing's blown. Or is this a symptom of a larger issue with the A/C system, I'm trying to avoid taking it to the garage if possible.
