Hi Guy's,
I had my aircon re gassed back in October, just after i bought the ML. it worked fine for a few weeks but then I noticed the windows steaming up ( I never really turn the air con off during the winter) so suspected it had leaked out.
Now we are getting slightly warmer weather its time I had it looked at (her indoors is moaning!!)
When it was re-gassed it was supposedly checked for leaks - which clearly was either not done or didn't show up anything (I suspect it was just a simple pressure test).
So, knowing there are lots of so called air con outfits out there claiming to do all sorts of fault finding, does anyone have any recommendations in the Leeds/harrogate area for someone who knows their stuff and has some advanced leak detection capability?
I know its illegal to recharge a known leaky system with refrigerant even with a dye, but I know some outfits use a safe but detectable gas for known leaky systems. An internet trawl has thrown up Claytons Car MOT, Servicing & Repairs in Leeds - Claytons MOT & Service Centre » Claytons MOT
who claim to have some advanced leak detection equipment, and safe gas, anyone used them and are they any good? if not , any other air con recommendations for the Leeds/Harrogate area?
thanks.
