Do you know anyone who will do this for less than 50 quid nowadays? I live in Oxford, commute to London and Cambridge.

Thanks

I used the local garage near me the owner has had mercedes and knows about them,it cost me £49,I suppose it depends on what has happened,I am not a great fan of air conditioning so do not use it often and it had just got a little low,but if yours was working and suddenly stops it could be a leak and then these cheap quotes will be no good, you would need a leak test and a specialist air con man.

That can cause it to not function correctly too - dried up seals etc.

The cheap quote is irrelevant as every system should be tested prior to filling. If it has a leak, I believe legally it should not be filled

Since joining this site last year I remember someone mentioning how A/C should always be on and I've stuck to it, but on baking hot days where I enter the car after its hot, it takes ages for my left side to get cold

If entering my car on a mild day, which then gets baking hot then both sides of my A/C are lovely and cold.

What do these symptoms suggest? In sweltering heat it can take ages to turn cold, so most of the time I end up having the windows down. It's certainly never ice ice cold like it was in other cars I've owned

Before I had mine regassed my passenger side was cooler than the driver's side so it could be low on gas
