My S211's air conditioning has been refilled maybe 3 times over the 6 years I've owned it, with the duration of time it works for post refill decreasing each time. Now it's down to maybe 3 months, so clearly whatever leak it has is getting worse.

Can anyone recommend an AC specialist or someone in the Midlands area that could find a leak? I've tried a UV torch on the condenser to try to find any dye coming through, but nothing is obvious.

Cheers

Maybe there is no dye in the system, not normally put in on a re-gas unless you are looking for a leak. What you might find is an oily patch on the condenser if it has a pin hole in it. The PAG oil will spread out from the hole across the fins of the condenser.

UV will only work if there is dye in which is not part of refrigerant/lube oil.

Where specifically are you in the midlands. did you try a google search. Many indies do AC work.

I'm in Birmingham. There was UV dye added to the last refill in April (bright green under the lamp from I can see when unscrewing the filler caps).

I've done a search but was just wondering if anyone had any specific recommendations. Cheers

Well you have a few to chose from, that Cool Car look good,I think you are right to use a specialist,I use one in essex, Into Cool, first class service and reasonable, lets hope you get the aircon ice cold soon.

Went hunting again late last night with the UV lamp and lo and behold found the spot on the condenser, right in the centre at the top.

Will call some garages and see how big a job this is... the part doesn't look that expensive.

Give these guys a call, based in Coventry. I have used them for alternators and they are spot on

Glad you found the leak OP. Condensors are a common fail, they hold the moisture being a condenser and rot through.
Be inclined to get a genuine replacement part.
